Ludwine Probst is a scientific and botanical illustrator visiting Cairns from her home in France. Her residency at the Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre aims to highlight the beauty and importance of local ecosystems. Through November, Ludwine will produce various pieces for exhibition and run workshops to create a collaborative artwork.
Inspired by observations in the Cairns Botanic Gardens, this project shows nature's beauty from a scientific perspective. By blending artistic techniques with scientific observation, Ludwine aims to highlight the beauty of endemic or significant species and to enhance the public's connection to nature while advocating for conservation.
