This exhibition showcases underwater images captured by members of the Nautilus Scuba Club for their annual 2025 Underwater Photography Competition.
The images provide the viewer with a glimpse into the beautiful and dramatic scenery of the underwater world, with its fascinating and diverse creatures. Inspired by the Great Barrier Reef, our members also dive and capture images around our Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
The photographs are displayed in themes to match the competition categories, such as Portrait, Behaviour, Wide Angle and Macro. There are specific categories to showcase the Beauty of the Great Barrier Reef and the skills of our members, with Portfolio Categories where photographers enter a set of five images that demonstrate their range of skills across several styles and techniques.
There is also a category specifically for smartphones/action cameras, to show just how accessible underwater photography can be, and a video category for a more immersive experience.
The competition is judged anonymously by independent and award-winning underwater and wildlife photographers. This year the judges are Kevin Deacon, Mark Spencer and Gary Bell.
