Tanks Arts Centre, Tank 5
This workshop teaches kids how to create stop-motion animations using physical sets, characters, and real-world materials. From designing a story and building miniature environments to animating movement frame by frame, participants will gain a hands-on understanding of how traditional tabletop stop-motion animation works.
They’ll learn how to plan scenes, construct simple sets, move characters in small increments, and use a camera to capture smooth animation, turning everyday craft materials into moving stories.
Key Learning Modules:
By the end of this workshop, kids will have created their own short tabletop stop-motion animation, featuring handmade characters, physical sets, and a complete story.
