Born into a gospel-rich family in Gause, Texas, her rich storytelling and authenticity have captivated and inspired audiences worldwide as she is often compared to Bonnie Rait and Aretha Franklin. Ruthie mixes a wide palette of American song forms, from gospel and blues to jazz, folk and soul, and has collaborated with fellow greats including Susan Tedeschi, Blind Boys of Alabama, Allman Brothers, Warren Haynes, and Bonnie Raitt to name a few.
